Flood water washed away a bus in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, September 23.

Parts of northeast India, including New Delhi and the National Capital region, endured heavy rainfall and localized flooding as former Cyclone Daye tracked across the region from Sunday into Monday.

Flood-related incidents have claimed at least 25 lives in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, according to the Hindustan Times.

As rainfall becomes more and more infrequent, concerns will turn to the threat for increased haze and poor air quality building across northern and northwest India in the coming weeks, AccuWeather reported.
