The British government announced a considerable reduction in its contributions to international agencies responsible for promoting abortion under the guise of “improving reproductive and maternal health worldwide,” which will severely impact organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the United Nations, Lifenews reported.
The UK’s 85% reduction in contributions is in response to the impact of the pandemic on its economy.
IPPF (Planned Parenthood International) expects to lose approximately $100 million, which will mean the closure of offices in four countries, details the Lifenews report.
It also predicts that “without additional funding, IPPF will be forced to close services in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Cote D’Ivoire, Cameroon, Uganda, Nepal and Lebanon. They may also be forced to close services in an additional 9 countries, withdrawing support for SRH (reproductive health) services from approximately 4,500 service delivery points globally.”
The UK also informed UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, that it would reduce its commitment by 85%, a projected loss of $180 million of the $322 million UNFPA expected from the UK in 2021 and 2022.
The expected $211 million contribution for 2021 will now be reduced to about $32 million.
According to Planned Parenthood, the “shocking 85% funding slash for UNFPA will also increase the price of commodities and supplies of contraception globally, making it more difficult for our Member Associations to source affordable supplies and maintain sustainability.”
In other words, the abortion industry will be significantly affected, and it will be more challenging to supply the drugs used for abortions.
UN funds and promotes abortion globally as a ‘women’s reproductive right’
The UNPFA’s ‘flagship family planning program’ is responsible for supplying the pills used for abortions, Misoprostol and Mifepristone, distributed as ‘maternal health supplies’ worldwide.
One of the pills, Mifepristone, is used to cut off the mother’s food supply to the baby, causing the baby to die inside. Misoprostol then generates contractions to remove the dead baby from the woman’s body.
Its use has caused controversy because of the violence of the procedure, which sometimes even kills the woman.
Nevertheless, both Planned Parenthood and the United Nations fund promote these drugs and the practice of abortion as a ‘woman’s reproductive right.’
Planned Parenthood United States
As a pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony List points out, abortions make up 95% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy resolution services, and for every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performed nearly 81 abortions during the 2018-2019 reporting year.
In the United States alone, Planned Parenthood performed 354,871 abortions in 2019, making it the highest number of abortions Planned Parenthood clinics have performed in a given year.
According to these figures, the abortionist killed 972 babies every day in the fiscal year 2019. Between 2011 and 2019, Planned Parenthood conducted more than 2.9 million abortions in the country.
Thus, the closing of its offices in the poorest countries and the price increase in funding abortion drugs is welcome news to all who value human life and seek an end to this sinful practice.
