Australian journalist Peter Lalor got the shock of his life when he was accidentally charged $67,689 for a beer that was supposed to cost $6.76.
The accident occurred on Sunday as Lalor visited a bar at the Manchester, England, Malmaison Hotel.
“See this beer? This is the most expensive beer in history,” he posted on Twitter Thursday alongside a photo of the beverage.

I paid $99,983.64 for it in the Malmaison Hotel, Manchester the other night.

An instant refund was given to Lalor with the management of the hotel telling him that the huge charge might not pass. Unfortunately, the cash was still taken out of his account days later, but the bank said it would take about 10 days to get the refund through.
So Lalor is waiting anxiously.
“I am not a wealthy man. I could buy my car 10 times over with that amount,” he said.
The hotel told CNN that they reached out to Lalor to apologize for the blunder and fix it.
“We always benchmark our bar prices, and acknowledge that this was a tad on the steep side,” the hotel said.
“We hope we can invite Peter back for another drink soon. The next one is definitely on the house!”
