The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) lied about the extent of the CCP Virus (coronavirus) outbreak in order to hoard medical supplies to deal with the pandemic, according to a report from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The report obtained by The Associated Press on Sunday, May 3, showed that Chinese leaders “intentionally concealed the severity” of the CCP Virus outbreak, which originated in Wuhan in November 2019.

The CCP told the World Health Organization on Jan. 14 that there was no evidence that the virus could be transmitted between humans. While withholding information about the transmissibility of the virus, the CCP ordered medical supplies from abroad, including face masks, gloves, and surgical gowns, said the report.

The report also said Chinese officials denied that the regime had imposed restrictions on exports, while “obfuscating and delaying” the release of its trade data.

The DHS report came at the same time as a research dossier complied by the so-called Five Eyes intelligence alliance that also stated that the CCP intentionally hid the extent of the outbreak.

The document from the intelligence agencies of the United States, Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, said that the CCP’s secrecy amounted to an “assault on international transparency,” according to the Daily Telegraph.

President Donald Trump has criticized the CCP over its handling of the pandemic that led to the loss of tens of thousands of lives around the world. The president said he has seen information indicating with a high degree of confidence that the virus originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

On Sunday, during a Fox News’s town hall, President Trump said that his administration will soon release “conclusive” evidence showing how the CCP Virus originally leaked out of  the Wuhan lab, adding that he doesn’t view the virus as a malicious action from the CCP.

“Personally I think they made a horrible mistake,” he told co-host Martha MacCallum. “They didn’t want to admit it. We wanted to go in but they didn’t want us there. World Health wanted to go in.”

“They tried to cover it, they tried to put it out,” he said. “It’s like trying to put out a fire. They couldn’t put out the fire.”
