Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador fired Mexican doctors or will not renew their contracts this December, and will import Cuban professionals.

Due to the socialist president’s huge health cut—44%—at least 10,000 Mexican workers in the sector have been laid-off.

Instead, he will bring the doctors that Cuba withdrew from Brazil after Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announced that the socialist island regime watched over them and treated them like slaves.

In fact, the first group of Cuban doctors is expected to arrive in Mexico “at the end of September so that they can adapt to the local idiosyncrasy and culture,” said the mayor of Cuautla, according to CubaNet.

Mexican health workers, for their part, showed indignation and remembered that the government does not even pay their salaries, which has led to millions in debt due to the López Obrador administration, which is steadily increasing, as reported by the PanamPost.

They also warned that they do not plan to carry out the required tests that accredit the professional capacity of Cuban doctors.

Currently, the export of doctors is the largest source of income for the Cuban regime, since it withholds 70 percent of the salary of doctors it sends to other countries.

It should be remembered that the director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Germán Martínez, resigned shortly after López Obrador presented the cuts in health care that has left so many doctors out of work and hospitals short of supplies.

“I am not going to fire the doctors. People are going to die in the streets,” Martínez said, according to PanamPost.
