A wounded delivery driver from FedEx turned the tables and killed an armed robber who shot him in a Philadelphia shootout, police said.

The delivery driver, 32, was driving at 7:05 p.m. on Unruh Avenue’s 600 block, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, according to police, when a 27-year-old armed robber approached him. The robber shot the driver once in the abdomen. The delivery driver returned fire, shooting the robber multiple times in the chest and back.

The delivery driver was taken to Einstein Hospital where he was in stable condition. The suspect was also taken to Einstein, where at 8:27 p.m. he was pronounced dead.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released by police.
