A body found buried in a shallow grave behind an Alabama home on Friday, Jan. 3, has been identified as missing Paighton Houston, authorities said.
The investigation of the disappearance of Houston, 29, led authorities to a Hueytown abandoned home, where a body was found and was later identified to be the remains of Houston, ABC News reported.

Bessemer District Attorney Lynneice Washington said the female body was found wrapped in cloth. She said the scene was “very muddy, very nasty,” according to WBRC.
Houston vanished after leaving Birmingham’s Tin Roof bar on the night of Dec. 21, with two men, police said. It appeared she left with them willingly.
Houston had gone to the bar that night with her coworker. But around midnight, Houston texted one of those friends saying “IDK who I am with so if I call please answer. I feel in trouble.”
Her death remains under investigation.
