A 49-year-old woman has been identified as a person of interest and taken into custody in connection with the fire early Monday morning, Sept. 16, at the Heidelberg Project in Detroit, Michigan, Detroit Police Department spokeswoman Latrice Crawford said, according to The Detroit News.
Police told reporters that the woman, a neighbor, is investigating whether she’s connected to the incident.
Deputy Fire Commissioner David Fornell said the city’s fire marshal is on the scene of the east side blaze that broke out just after 6:45 a.m. at the project’s “You” building on Mt. Elliott, south of Mack. The building will have to be demolished. No injuries have been reported.
