When Catherine Pugh was the mayor of Baltimore, she was heard to speak of the city the same way President Trump recently described it. Her comments at the time were about the stench in the streets from rats and dead animals.

Recently, a Fox video clip from last September has resurfaced, it was included in a story titled “Baltimore Mayor Unfiltered on City Streets,” and the then mayor was Catherine Pugh. The video is garnering plenty of attention on the internet, as President Trump has recently created a liberal firestorm with his comments about the conditions in Baltimore. He has criticized Democratic Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings for allowing the problems assailing his district to continue, and as a result, the Democrats have produced the “racist” card.

However, in the 2018 video clip, Pugh complains about the disgusting state of the streets as she toured with a film crew to highlight her Operation: Crime & Justice, a Violence Reduction Initiative.

Speaking with the local news crew, she can be heard to say, “Whoa, you can smell the rats,” and as they walked down the street she added,  “What the hell? We should just take all this [expletive] down.”

It was a searing hot day, with temperatures around 100 degrees, and the smell was overpowering. “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals,” said Pugh.

That was in September, 2018, and you had a black mayor voicing the same concerns the president has at present.

The president  sparked liberal rage when he made a comparison between living conditions at the border and those in Baltimore, “As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cummings District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” the president tweeted on July 27.

The district is under the care of black Rep. Elijah Cummings’ (D-Md.). “Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!” the president tweeted.

“If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place,” said the president. Baltimore East is home to the largest methadone clinics in the country, with more than 2,000 patients seeking treatment daily. Old broken-down and deserted buildings are often a safe haven for addicts needing somewhere to crash. Trucks are often seen coming into the deserted areas to dump trash, and recently President Trump highlighted the city’s problems when he tweeted that Baltimore, “is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”

Although he never mentioned race in his tweets, the president was attacked by liberals and falsely labeled a “racist.”

“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA…..”.
