A key person of interest in the Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy was revealed to be a sex offender.
Darrell Brooks is already wanted for various alleged sex offenses. When he was 24 he pleaded guilty to impregnating a 15 year-old Nevada girl back in 2006. He was placed on probation and charged for statutory sexual seduction because it was a consensual relationship, according to the New York Post.
Ten years later, Brooks was arrested for failing to register himself as a sex offender in the Silver State. He was released on bail but, when he failed to appear in court, an arrest warrant was issued and remains active.
The extensive criminal background revealed Brooks was previously dangerous behind the wheel.
In 2011, a police officer pulled him over for not wearing a seatbelt. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported he provided false ID then tried to run over the officer with his car. Luckily, the officer jumped onto the vehicle and wrestled with Brooks, who ultimately pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.
On November 2, Brooks allegedly punched the mother of his child and ran over her with his vehicle after a fight in Milwaukee County, Wis. He was released after paying a $1,000 cash bail on Nov. 16.
The 39 year-old has multiple drug-related charges and more than six others for violence against humans, one of which involves strangling a woman, according to Breitbart. Brooks did not return to Nevada after being arrested multiple times in other states despite the warrant.
He recently fled a domestic disturbance and drove his car through a parade route in downtown Waukesha. He allegedly struck multiple participants, many of whom were children on Nov. 21.
He now faces a sixth first-degree intentional homicide charge after another parade victim, an 8 year-old succumbed to injuries on Nov. 23.
