Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday, March 17, urged Americans to follow President Donald Trump’s guidelines to slow the spread of the (Chinese Communist Party) CCP Virus, noting that once the crisis is over that the economy will come surging back.
“We need every American, every American business to step forward and recognize that if we act now—if we act now, we can limit the spread of the coronavirus significantly and ultimately save lives,” Pence told Fox News host Sean Hannity, reported the Daily Wire.
The vice president advised any worker who may have been exposed to the CCP Virus to stay home and “shouldn’t worry about missing a paycheck.”
“We’re working with Congress to ensure that paid leave is available for hardworking Americans, but making sure that this economy gets back on its feet, that Americans are able to weather this time has—is also a priority for President Trump. We’re talking with leadership in both parties on Capitol Hill,” he continued.
President Trump, who vowed “to do whatever it takes” to protect Americans on Tuesday said, “We want to go big, go solid” as the White House was seeking a stimulus package worth anywhere from $850 billion to more than $1 trillion as part of the administration’s efforts to battle the economic impact from the CCP virus pandemic.
“And we’re very confident that as Congress did before with the Supplemental Bill, the legislation that’s moving through today that will bring paid family leave and cover the cost of a coronavirus test for every American, whether they have insurance or not, we’re going to build on that, an economic stimulus package that will bring us through this time,” Pence said.
Pence highlighted the critical role of each American in flattening the curve of the number of people who contract the CCP Virus and stressed that it is the best way we can help the U.S. economy.

“The more we can do, every single one of us, to prevent the spread in our family, in our community, at our place of work, the sooner we will be through this. It will still be weeks and months to go, but we can lessen the impact of the coronavirus in the weeks and months ahead, and we can save lives,” Pence concluded. “And as the president said, when we defeat the coronavirus in the United States, this economy will come roaring back.”
