The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is working closely with Brazilian Trotskyists from the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL) to destroy the alliance between the conservative presidents of both countries.
Both parties are trying to build massive socialist parties in their respective countries and a strong aversion to their current leaders, Donald Trump in the United States and Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, a trend that contrasts with the line of condemnation of communism being followed by the European Union, which recently approved a declaration condemning Nazism and communism in Europe and prohibits the display of communist symbols in Europe.
According to this declaration, communism, of which socialism is the previous stage, and Nazism were responsible for “mass murders, genocide and deportations, and caused a loss of life and freedom in the 20th century on a scale unseen in human history.”
However, socialism seems to be resurfacing in the United States and Latin America.
DSA activist Ben Dalton explained in a 2016 article on the socialist organization’s website that Pedro Fuentes, a visiting speaker and official of Brazil’s Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL), said at an event that Trump is the No. 1 target of socialists in the United States.
In addition, Brazil has received special attention in DSA Resolution #4 called “Building the DSA International Committee,” where American socialists prioritized “establishing relations with socialist and working-class organizations in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Latin America broadly.”
The resolution stated, “an effective and orderly International Committee is necessary for DSA to transition into an internationalist organization.”
The PSOL has been very active in organizing protests and demonstrations against the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, both before and after his electoral victory.
In fact, Adélio Bispo de Oliveira, who stabbed then-candidate Jair Bolsonaro during an act in 2018, was then a member of the PSOL.
Meanwhile, the connection between the socialists of both countries was made through a Brussels-based coordinating body called the Unified Secretariat for the Fourth International, heir to socialist internationals organized by the Soviet communist regime.
This secretariat is “a network of revolutionary Marxist organizations, continuation of the Fourth International reunited in 1963,” according to the Revolutionary Socialist website.
During a convention organized in Chicago by the socialist website Left on the Move, the PSOL delegates were very well received, as shown by comments some of their leaders later wrote:
“PSOL was known by a large share of delegates. (…)We are proud to say it was MES, a slate from PSOL, that has made the greatest effort to establish this contact so that we are proud of our country being recognized by the DSA at the same level as the Momentum from England, Mélenchon’s Party, Podemos and Bloco de Esquerda,” wrote Fuentes and Riscali.
Socialists in the United States are actively trying to coordinate with Latin American countries to advance their communist agenda, as they are already doing in Mexico.
In this sense, the revolutionary socialist organization based in the United States, Liberation Road, has recently created the so-called Project of Solidarity with the People of Mexico to help promote and turn Mexico to the extreme left and it will become a tool that will enable the dissemination of socialism in the United States as well.
This organization openly recognizes that it is promoting the implantation and consolidation of socialism in Latin America in order to “build the strategic alliance of those forces in the quest to build socialism in the United States,” according to its website.
Socialism and communism were responsible for the greatest number of murders of human beings in the history of humanity.
