The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is interfering in the electoral process and is “a major threat to national security” according to U.S. intelligence agencies.
This was the warning from the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), John Ratcliffe, who expressed concerns over the officials responsible for the security services, according to Fox News on Aug. 17.
“China [the CCP] poses a greater threat to U.S. national security than any other nation—economically, militarily, and technologically. That includes threats of electoral influence and interference,” Ratcliffe said.
The CCP is already working to prevent President Donald Trump from being re-elected on Nov. 3, Election Day.
Analysts note that Democratic leaders, such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), have not expressed their discontent with this interference as they did against Russia in 2016.
Pelosi even minimized the CCP’s interference in the election process, despite repeated warnings from the DNI, saying it “is not equivalent,” comparing it to Russia, and insisting that Russia’s vigilance be emphasized, according to the Washington Post.
Among the activities aggressively promoted by the CCP against President Trump is an unprecedented amount of propaganda aimed at tarnishing the Trump administration through newspapers and social media.
The themes used to discredit the Trump administration have been the handling of the crisis caused by the CCP Virus and the left-wing riots following the death of African American George Floyd.
According to reports by the investigative agencies Graphika and ProPublica, the CCP has used thousands of fake accounts integrated into the network called Spamouflage Dragon, which publishes videos predicting that President Trump will lose the election and praised the activities of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
Another resource used by the CCP has been TikTok, according to specialists such as Paul Dabrowa, an Australian national security expert.
“My team discovered that TikTok can be used to trigger desired responses and behaviors,” Dabrowa shared through the Jewish Press.
Adding that “armed propaganda,” driven by Artificial Intelligence, “can trigger wars, economic collapse, riots, and protests of all kinds.” He also said, “It can destroy the credibility of government institutions and turn people against them.”
Some believe that the CCP changed the TikTok algorithm to inflame George Floyd’s protests, which spread across the country in hours.
Jonathan Bass, CEO of PTM Images, told the Gatestone Institute he believes the application convinced white women attending university to identify with poor black men because it promoted the narrative that both groups had been denied opportunities.
Trump has been strong on international politics with the CCP, Russia, and Iran, and it is attributed to this that the regimes want to interfere with his re-election.
“We do not need or want foreign interference, and President Trump will defeat Joe Biden in a fair manner,” Trump Campaign Communications Director Tim Murtaugh, said in a statement.
