A group of congressmen in the House are thinking of requesting an aptitude test for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to determine if she is qualified to keep the position, as Breitbart News reported.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), revealed in an interview with host Mark Levin of “Life, Liberty, & Levin,” that he and several legislators are investigating a way to test Pelosi’s qualifications.

McCarthy’s statements come after Pelosi, along with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), announced Friday, Oct. 9, a bill to remove the president from office, citing the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

That decision led House lawmakers to question the president’s mental health, following their idea of trying to overthrow the president less than a month before the general election.

McCarthy argued that Pelosi should meet the same standard as required of the president.

“Are you going to recommend the same commission take a look at her mental capacity?” Levin asked McCarthy, “Does she have to submit any kind of records about her health? Mental health?” the host added.

McCarthy stated that since the House speaker was third in the succession line after the vice president and the president, he suggested they also take a test to check their aptitude and meet the same standards.

“If she’s now saying they should have a commission to do that with the president, shouldn’t you do that with all three people who are in line for the presidency?” McCarthy said. He referred to the select committee of legislators that would work with Congress and the vice president on the 25th Amendment acclamation.

McCarthy said that he and several Congress members would look for ways to “craft something” to help the aptitude test not exclude her.

McCarthy also recalled that they need a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate to remove a president under the 25th Amendment. “She knows this will not be a reality. This is just another attempt to attack our democracy,” he said.
