Lemoore authorities said two men were arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 15 for the theft of cheese products worth about $50,000 from a food plant in August.
Jairo Mariano Osorio, 24, was arrested for possessing the stolen property and booked into the Kings County Jail, the Lemoore Police Department said. Thirty-four-year-old Roderick Domingo Ransom was arrested and jailed for grand theft and embezzlement.
Police launched an investigation into the burglary at the Leprino Foods Plant on August 22.
Leprino Foods said theft of its products had been taking place since 2017, Commander Maggie Ochoa said. At the time, the theft’s source was unknown.
Detectives found that the stolen product was sold in the counties of Fresno, Tulare, and Kings and in Southern California’s Riverside County.
The brand was distributed through the statewide social media sites, door to door at residences, and road, and flea markets, Ochoa said.
Multiple people were identified by the police as being involved in the product sale. In the counties of Tulare and Kings, police executed multiple search warrants. They identified the people involved and recovered a large quantity of the stolen material.
