Two children were shot less than a mile apart on the east side of Indianapolis on Tuesday morning, Aug. 13.

The first shooting happened at around 6:10 a.m near Linwood Avenue and East Washington Street.

A 17-year-old boy was shot while walking to his school bus stop, police said.

The teen ran home and told his mother he had been shot before he collapsed, Fox59 reported.

He has been taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The second shooting happened shortly after 8:15 a.m. in the 400 block of North Bradley Avenue, near East Michigan Street and North Sherman Drive.

The child shot on Bradley was 2 years old, Fox59 reported.

The toddler is listed in stable condition, according to officials.
