Former President Donald Trump chastised Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-Ark.) for vetoing legislation that would have made Arkansas the first state to prohibit transgender minors from using puberty blockers.
“Asa Hutchinson, the lightweight RINO governor of Arkansas, just vetoed a bill that banned the chemical castration of children. ”Bye-bye Asa,’ that’s the end of him! Fortunately for the Great State of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will do a fantastic job as your next Governor.'”
Trump made the announcement in a statement issued on behalf of his Save America political action committee (PAC).
Trump has used emails to issue comments endorsing candidates and criticizing defectors through his PAC and the ‘Office of the 45th President.’ He often used the word ‘RINO,’ which stands for ‘Republican in Name Only,’ and has become a common slur to use against GOP lawmakers and politicians.
Hutchinson appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday and said the bill he received [HB-1570] was “overbroad” and “extreme.”
“House Bill 1570 is opposed by the leading Arkansas medical associations. They expressed concern that denying the best medical care to transgender youth can lead to significant harm to the young person, from suicidal tendencies and social isolation to increased drug use,” said Hutchinson.
Hutchinson also said that this was the first legislation in the country to put the state in the middle of medical decisions, parents’ consent, and the patient’s decision. As a result, that went a little too far. It didn’t even have a grandfather clause for young people who were undergoing hormone therapy.
HB-1570 is a bill that would make it a crime to offer puberty blockers to children or conduct surgical operations to change their gender identity permanently.
Though being a devout Republican, Hutchinson has expressed opinions and made decisions that are at odds with the Republican establishment, including his decision this week to defy his state legislature.
On Tuesday, the Arkansas House and Senate, in which Republicans outnumber Democrats, voted to overturn Hutchinson’s veto. As a result, Arkansas has become the first state to prohibit physicians from offering such treatments to transgender children, such as irreversible hormone therapy that can prolong, stunt, or even interrupt puberty.
On 16 Oct. 2020, President Joe Biden said in ABC’s town hall that he agrees that children as young as 8 or 10 can decide if they want to change sex. Such an immature idea not only denies the nature of human beings but also promotes dangerous hormone treatments that scientists have rejected, Breitbart reported.
Biden participated in a political event on Oct. 15 to answer the public’s questions on the ABC channel. A woman who said she had “a transgender daughter” asked the former vice president about his position on LGBT rights.
Biden responded, “The idea that an 8-year-old child, a 10-year-old child, decides, you know, ‘I want to be transgender, that’s what I think I’d like to be, it’d make my life a lot easier’—there should be zero discrimination.’”
Biden’s response implies that children as young as 8 or 10 may undergo gender confirmation or sex reassignment treatments based on their perception. Children are just beginning to understand the environment around them at such an early age and have no idea how dangerous these so-called treatments are.
The American College of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatrics have published extensive reports on the devastating effects of these treatments on children.
