“They call him Britain-Trump and some people are saying that’s a good thing,” said President Trump.

President Trump did not mince his words during his speech at the Teen Student Action Summit. He criticized Germany for not spending enough on defense in a pact the European nation has made with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

“Somebody said President Obama is much more popular in Germany than Donald Trump. Well he should be, he should be,” said President Trump who continued, “Because Germany is the biggest offender.”

President Trump stated that Germany does not pay enough. “They’re paying one percent. We’re paying 4.3 percent of a much bigger GDP (gross domestic product),” said the president who continued stating, “They’re supposed to pay 2 percent.”

But “they’re paying one percent,” said President Trump. He reproached Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel for spending less on defense than Germany had pledged to NATO.

“You got to pay Angela. Please pay Angela,” said President Trump, who continued, “And then they say, ‘who do you like better, Obama or President Trump? ‘Oh, I like President Obama.’”

The president stated that if he were to start getting good poll numbers in Germany, it means, “I’m not doing my job” in the U.S.

President Trump reminded the young people about the American heritage of being just and virtuous. “As conservatives, we’re grateful for the great heritage that we have, the heritage of being an American,” said President Trump, who stated that this is important to all of us.

“We know that America is the most just and virtuous republic ever conceived,” because we fight for other countries, said President Trump.

President Trump spoke about his experience at the G20 Osaka summit and how he talked to different world leaders, asking them “Who do you fight for?” and the answer President Trump received was always, “Just our country.”

Whereas “we fight for all these countries and it costs a fortune,” and some of these countries are wealthy, said President Trump. The U.S. president then said to his young audience that he told these world leaders that they will have to now pay for the military expenses and support.
