Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced Friday, Oct. 16, that after reaching an agreement with two private laboratories, once the CCP Virus vaccine is available, the U.S. government will deliver it free of charge to nursing homes.
In a statement on his official Twitter account, Azar said, “Our unprecedented public-private partnership with @CVSHealth and @Walgreens will provide convenient and free vaccination to residents of nursing homes across America, another historic achievement in our efforts to get a safe and effective vaccine to Americans as fast as possible.”

According to the Trump administration’s announcement, residents of all types of care facilities, once the vaccine is available, will be able to access it free of charge.
Later on Friday, President Trump gave a speech in Fort Myers, Florida, to a predominantly older crowd. Trump announced that his administration would partner with CVS and Walgreens to immediately deliver a vaccine directly to nursing homes at no cost to their residents, The Hill reported.
“I am honored to be here in Fort Myers to reaffirm my solemn pledge to America’s Seniors: I will protect you, I will defend you, and I will fight for you with every ounce of energy and conviction that I have,” the president said after the vaccine announcement.
Trump focused his entire speech on the elderly, acknowledging that the 54 million elderly in the United States are the people who have suffered most from the CCP Virus. Both because of the fear of knowing that they are a vulnerable population, and because of having to stay locked up.
At the same time, the president sought to convey “a message of optimism and hope. And he severely warned, “Do not listen to the cynics and angry supporters and professional pessimists,” referring to those sectors that promote eternal quarantines and extreme confinement, causing panic in society and erratic measures that do not necessarily limit the spread of the virus.
“I’m moving heaven and earth to safeguard our seniors from the China virus, to deliver lifesaving therapies in record time, and to distribute a safe and effective vaccine before the end of the year,” said President Trump.
President Trump also emphasized the efforts he is making with the laboratories to develop the drugs that can lessen the effects of the virus on those infected. Such is the case of Regeneron, the cocktail of antibodies that President Trump himself received when he contracted the virus.
President Trump’s speech served in part to respond to the lies mentioned by Democratic candidate Joe Biden, when days ago he accused the president of treating America’s elderly as if they were “expendable.”
Biden’s speech was quickly fact-checked by Breitbart who analyzed the words quoted by President Trump, pointing out that they are a malicious interpretation of the Democratic candidate, again using the resource of taking the phrases out of context completely to distort the information.
President Trump closed his speech by saying, “You, as seniors, have protected us. And now, I, as a senior, and all of my people, we are protecting you. Your courage, your leadership, your patriotism, and your faith are an inspiration to us all.”
