A group of parents in the state of Virginia were upset after the National School Boards Association suggested they are ‘domestic terrorists’ for demonstrating against “critical race theory.” Among the group of parents is a female survivor of Maoist China, who warned that the tactics used by public agencies remind her of the communist dictatorship.

The number of parent groups complaining to various school boards across the country is increasing daily, expressing their displeasure with the policies associated with “critical race theory” and leftist ideology being introduced in schools.

The National School Boards Association, accused of being at the forefront of these ideologies and promoting critical race theory in educational institutions across the country, wrote a letter in late September addressed to President Joe Biden requesting assistance from federal law enforcement arguing that parental grievances toward school boards “could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

Parents in Fairfax County, Northern Virginia, voiced their displeasure over the letter sent, especially the suggestion that dissenters to the policies they are trying to impose should be identified as “terrorists.”

One of the mothers involved in rejecting the letter, Xi Van Fleet, is an elderly lady who endured Mao’s Cultural Revolution before emigrating to the U.S. Speaking to Fox News, she said the National School Boards Association and the Justice Department are using similar tactics to those she saw Communist China use to prevent parents from speaking out.

“When I was in China, I spent my entire school years in the Chinese Cultural Revolution, so I’m very, very familiar with the communist tactics of how to divide people, how they canceled the Chinese traditional culture and destroyed our heritage,” Xi said. “All this is happening here in America.”

Xi Van Fleet recalled that for a long time, parents who opposed critical race theory have been accused of being racist. Still, since that hate-sowing accusation has no factual basis, “then, they have to upgrade to domestic terrorists.”

Van Fleet made headlines in June when she delivered a stirring speech to the Loudoun County School Board about her concerns about critical race theory.

Van Fleet’s speech was posted on Twitter by TVP, a program aimed at exposing anti-American activities such as critical race theory and other types of subversion used against the United States.

Van Fleet was alarmed about what is happening to our children’s education in America, accusing the Loudoun County School Board of allowing children and teens to be trained to become “social justice warriors” and to hate America and its history.

In this vein, Van Fleet compared the controversial Critical Race Theory to the Cultural Revolution of Maoist China; a purge carried out by the communist leader that left between 500,000 and 20 million people dead between 1966 and 1976 in China.

Other parents went along with Van Fleet’s remarks, arguing that school authorities are creating division and a climate of fear to make parents not dare to express their discontent with the liberal and anti-traditional ideas they are trying to impose.

“I can understand parents not wanting to speak in front of the school board members of their concerns, because now there is a fear,”  Harry Jackson, a Fairfax County parent, told Fox News.

Van Fleet encouraged parents not to be intimidated by recent events and urged them to take strength to stand up to the ideals that are trying to destroy the nation’s foundation.
