Last week, Florida resident Angel Harrelson reached out to The Gateway Pundit.
Retired Army Sgt. Kenneth Harrelson, Angel’s husband, was arrested last week and is currently being held in jail for attending the Jan. 6 demonstrations in Washington, DC. The feds will transport him to Washington, DC, for trial this week.
Kenneth Harrelson is a U.S. veteran and former Army sergeant. He has significant health issues, including high blood pressure.
Following the detention, the U.S. government shut down the family’s bank account. Angel was laid off from her job.
The family is now unsure about how they can make ends meet.
The following is Angel’s story:
“My name is Angel. I am the wife of Retired Army Sgt. Kenneth Harrelson, a 100% disabled veteran who traveled to Washington D.C. to, on Jan. 5–6 to, protect Trump supporters from violent Antifa. We have a 17-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. My husband was arrested on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, and my family is greatly in need of help,” Angel Harrelson said.
She continued that a search warrant was served at their home by the FBI, city police, and sheriff’s office … They arrested him without incident and then took her husband in handcuffs to the entrance.
“The agents informed me that they were going to search the house and said that I would need to remain outside for the duration of their search. I requested to see a copy of the search warrant, but I was refused, basically,” she added.
She said that she wanted to video record them as they searched and informed them that she was doing so. They began questioning Kenneth, but he demanded a lawyer, so they terminated the interrogation, and he was transferred to the county jail. She remained at home to await their children’s return from school.
Kenneth’s participation in Go To Meetings was stated in the Affidavit. The members’ discussions on those calls focused on what they could do to protect citizens from damage, specifically from violent ANTIFA. There was no plan to hurt anybody, to keep people safe, according to Angel Harrelson.
“The Oath Keepers are not terrorists. I pray that the truth will eventually set them all free. I hope that people will come forward and let everyone know that they were in DC on Jan 5 and 6 to show support for President Trump and to provide security for the guest speakers at the Save America Rally, as well as protecting the people in the audience,” she added. Following the speeches, they assisted in escorting members of the Stop the Steal party (including senior citizens) down to the Capitol, where another planned speaking event was to take place outside the house. They had no prior knowledge that someone might attempt to infiltrate the Capitol building. They first became aware of it after seeing it firsthand. They entered the building to support the police officers and others who were being pepper-sprayed and were in danger of being trampled by the crowd.
“The horrible things that are being said about my husband and other Oath Keepers members is devastating and heartbreaking,” she said.
“Our children are straight-A students who have learned the value of family and of being responsible citizens. Our family are the kind of people who would do whatever we can to help others,” she continued. “I can’t eat. I can’t sleep. And I am scared. I currently have no personal protection, but the Oath Keepers have volunteered to send men to protect me if needed. We are being harassed by social media, news media, and I fear an attack by an angry mob.”
She said that her husband is “being held in detention by the United States Marshals Service and could be extradited to Washington, D.C., following his hearing on Monday. He has extreme high blood pressure, PTSD, a hormonal imbalance, and a painful back injury, among other health problems. He had two back operations and a shoulder surgery before being medically retired from the Army. He is only 40 years old, and she is concerned that the trauma and stress he has experienced as a result of this situation would have a negative impact on his health.
“Anyone and everyone who knows him knows that he is not a terrorist, just a genuine American patriot,” she concluded.
