Police of the Pasadena Police Department in Los Angeles County, CA said that a drive-by shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at a home in the 1400 block of Cactus Street near Scarborough.

A woman identified as Rebeca Gomez was the victim, she was shot once in the head and then transferred via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she later died, officials said.

Rebeca Gomez, her husband and their 4-month-old child were inside their home when multiple shots were fired into the house.

ABC13 reported that a bullet hit the baby’s bassinet and came within two inches of hitting the child, but the child wasn’t injured.

Rebeca’s other three kids were spending the night at their grandparents when the shooting happened, authorities said.

According to Click2Houston, during the investigation, marijuana was found inside the home but police did not indicate how much or to whom it belonged.

Efforts in the investigation include looking for any surveillance cameras in the area that could reveal more details about the shooting and potentially lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the person responsible is asked to call Pasadena Police or contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

A Go Fund Me page for covering the funeral expenses was made in Rebeca Gomez’s name. (Click here to donate)
