A 17-year-old was charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of his own father in west Houston on Wednesday evening.
Houston police say Carlos Raushawn Cacho, 17, allegedly stabbed his father in the chest with a kitchen knife at their home in the 1300 block of Eldridge Parkway.
Cacho’s mother, the victim’s wife, with three of her children left the apartment at about 10:45 a.m. after she and the father had a verbal argument. Cacho remained with his father in the apartment with his 14-year-old brother.
When she returned home, she went to the restroom and found her husband’s body on the floor surrounded by blood. She then told Cacho to call 911.
Policemen interviewed Cacho when they came on the scene and he later admitted to stabbing his dad after they got into a physical disturbance.
He stated that his dad struck him several times, prompting him to grab a knife from under the bed of his parent and stab his dad in the toilet, according to court papers.
Police identified the father as 49-year-old Carlos Colon Cacho.
Carlo Raushawn Cacho is being held on a $60,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
