A 39-year-old mother and her three children were found dead of gunshot wounds Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, at the family’s home in Deer Park.
According to Deer Park police, officers responded to an 8:45 a.m. call requesting a welfare check at a house in the 1400 block of New Orleans Street, when they found the four bodies. Authorities do not suspect it was a home invasion.
The victims were identified as Ashley Auzenne and her children, Parrish, 11; Eleanor, 9; and Lincoln, 7. A school principal notified parents Tuesday afternoon that one of the victims, presumably Parrish, was a student at Bonnette Junior High School and two were students at Deer Park Elementary School.
Investigators are not ready to reveal how the crime happened, the deaths appeared to be suspicious.
“There are weapons in the house, but as far as (if) they were involved or not, we can’t say for certain right now,” said Lt. Chris Brown, of the Deer Park Police Department.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is underway at a home on New Orleans Street near Oklahoma Avenue.
Police said Deer Park residents have “nothing to fear.”
