Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting after a man was found dead in a stolen SUV in northwest Harris County.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office say the victim, a black male in his late teens to early 20s, was found shot to death in a stolen car.

While investigating at the scene, deputies said they learned that a second person had been transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound by a friend. He is expected to survive.

Two firearms were retrieved from the SUV and shell casings from a pistol and a long gun were also discovered at the scene. Authorities did not say if the casings were from the two guns.

Investigators are still waiting to talk to the person who was taken to the hospital.

The man who was found dead has not yet been identified.
