A Texas teen did not expect his luck to run out when he tried to rob a fireworks stand and ended up getting shot in the face with his own gun.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in Harris Country, Texas.

A 19-year-old walked up to the stand and started demanding money. When an employee brought the cash-out, to be able to pick up the money, the would-be robber put his gun down on the counter. That’s when a quick-thinking employee grabbed the gun and shot the guy in the face, police said.

Police haven’t released any information about the young man’s identity or his current state.
