A Texas woman posted a video warning people to be cautious of their purses. It went viral on Tiktok.

Sheridan Ellis created the video telling her experience of finding a Tile tracker in her purse without knowing how it got there.

Ellis said that on Saturday, June 5, she joined a birthday dinner with a group of friends.

“If you know me I don’t normally carry a purse, but on Saturday I did because we had decorations and stuff for the table,” Ellis said.

“At the end of the night, I’m cleaning my purse out and I find this. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a Tile. It’s basically a tracker, people put it on their keys and whatnot,” she said.

In the comment section, Ellis said that she found the Tile before she got home. She also made sure that the Tile did not belong to anyone at the party.

“It’s not mine, I don’t know how it got in my purse,” she said.

“I immediately took the battery out, don’t worry but yeah … Check your purses and stay safe out there,” she alerted.

She decided not to reported her situation to the police since she did not know when and how the tracker got into her purse. She did not want to put the battery back in neither, Newsweek reported.

She just wanted to make a video to tell people to keep an eye on their belongings.

Ellis received some advice from a Tiktok-viewer.

“Set up a sting operation! Put the tile on one of your huge male friend’s doorstep and monitor it with their Ring doorbell! Free 24 hour surveillance!” said one Tiktok account.

Another viewer offered another approach, “The police can definitely find out who purchased that and who downloaded the app registered to it. Go to the police. That is very scary.”

So far the video has reached over 1.1 million views and thousands of likes and shares on Tiktok.
