Zack Clements of Brownwood, Texas, was 17 when he collapsed while running during gym class and went into cardiac arrest on May 2015. He was “legally” dead for nearly 20 minutes but something happened that many people still cannot medically or scientifically explain.
Zack was a strong, healthy, and outgoing high school athlete. He went to school and played football at Victory Life Academy in Brownwood, Texas, according to CBS Local.
The teen suddenly collapsed while running in P.E. class and was rushed to the hospital where doctors worked to revive him.
Zack said that during the time many believed he was dead he saw Jesus, and heard angels singing, CBS Local reported.
He and his family believed it was divine intervention that saved his life.
“For him to wake up and tell us something he experienced like that. It’s just you can’t explain it. It’s not humanly possible to explain it,” Zack’s father, Billy Clements said.
“I’m just glad he decided to let me have my baby back,” Zack’s mother, Teresa Clements said.
Billy and Theresa were so surprised by their son’s admission that they videotaped him recounting what he saw during those 20 minutes he went without a pulse.
