Samantha Grace Vaughan, 26, of Copperas Cove, Texas was arrested Sunday following an allegedly racist tirade inside a bar she’s accused of drinking in while her infant was left unattended in a running car outside.

Officers responded at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday to the Trackside Night Club in the 300 block of Joe’s Road and found the one-year-old child asleep in a safety seat in the backseat of a car. The engine was running and the doors were not locked, according to Fox44.

Samantha Vaughan was found inside TrackSide, a club in Copperas Cove, at around 2 a.m., according to KWTX.

Vaughan said she was picking up her husband at the club and then “sat with him while she consumed the two shots,” police said.

Police said that Vaughan resisted officers’ efforts to detain her, shouting a racial epithet as she was placed in handcuffs.

Court papers quote her as threatening the officer and his family, hoping they die, according to Fox44.

Officers who spotted Vaughan said they smelled “a strong odor commonly associated with the consumption of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her person,” KWTX reported, citing an arrest warrant affidavit.

A breathalyzer test disclosed her blood alcohol level was 0.148, almost double the 0.08 legal driving limit in Texas.

Complaints filed with the court specified charges of abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return, resisting arrest and terroristic threats to a public servant, according to Fox44.
