To cover up his inadequacies, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has slammed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s reversal of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus restrictions on Tuesday, March 2.
As of next Wednesday, March 10, Texans will be allowed to go mask-free, and Newsom calls the move “absolutely reckless.” The move comes after eight months and is part of the effort to open Texas “100 percent.”
Subsequently, Texas will rescind all previous executive orders, and businesses will open without restrictions.
“Removing state mandates does not end personal responsibility,” Abbott cautioned. “Personal vigilance to follow the safe standards is still needed to contain COVID (CCP Virus). It’s just that now state mandates are no longer needed.”
Texas is one of the largest states to reopen following Florida, where Gov. Ron DeSantis lifted restrictions in September and banned local fines for those without a mask. Bar and restaurant numbers remained restricted to 50 percent.
Governors across the United States have begun easing restrictions, as the number of deaths across the country is dropping.
In Texas, like the rest of the country, hospitalizations are at the lowest levels since October, and the seven-day rolling average of positive tests has dropped to about 7,600 cases, down from more than 10,000 in mid-February, reported Fox News, and Texas is behind California and New York for CCP Virus deaths.
Newsom has been labeled a”poster child” for not following his mandates by the former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Huckabee has criticized Newsom for implementing mandates and policies for California residents and then blatantly ignoring the directives himself. “Gavin Newsom frankly is sort of the poster child for the ‘Let me tell you what your rules are, but don’t expect me to follow them because I’m better than you,'” Huckabee said on “The Faulkner Focus.”
Last November, Newsom dined out in Napa at an exclusive restaurant when indoor dining had been forbidden. Then he uploaded a video to his TikTok account, speaking of where to look for coronavirus vaccine eligibility. Still, his mistake again was he happened to be in a restaurant in Fresno while it was off-limits.
“Gavin Newsom continues to show that he’s nothing but an incompetent elitist who could care less about California families,” John Burke, communications director for Kevin Faulconer for governor, said in a statement to Fox News. “His failures have crippled our state’s economy and upended the lives of millions of families. We’re going to recall him and begin a California comeback to get our state on track.”
