On Tuesday, June 18, President Donald Trump is holding a large-scale rally in Orlando, Florida, to officially announce his candidacy for president in 2020.
Accompanied by his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and Second Lady Karen Pence, the president is expected to address a standing-room-only crowd at Orlando’s Amway Center.
Attendees began to wait in line as early as 8 a.m. Tuesday morning for the 4 p.m. event, with some Trump supporters even setting up chairs and tents Monday evening to reserve a place in line.
Propelled by a strong economy, progress in combatting illegal immigration, and aggressive trade policies, Trump has earned high approval among Republicans, but he will need strong support from independent voters in order to win re-election. As in 2016 and in prior elections, winning the state of Florida may prove to be critical for the president.
Big Rally tomorrow night in Orlando, Florida, looks to be setting records. We are building large movie screens outside to take care of everybody. Over 100,000 requests. Our Country is doing great, far beyond what the haters & losers thought possible – and it will only get better!

Trump’s announcement and rally in Orlando takes place one week before 20 candidates for the Democratic nomination face off for the first time in televised debates in Miami, as election season moves into full swing.
