A truck fatally collided with a stalled car, transporting a Tennessee couple who got married just hours earlier on Oct. 17.

Jessiah Plemons, 31, and Lily Rose, 25, died after the heavy vehicle crashed into their Dodge pickup truck on an exit ramp at about 3 a.m. according to Knoxville police. The couple’s passenger Madison Davis, 23, also died in the collision.

Police suspect Plemons, Rose, and Davis veered off the road and crashed into the railing while heading along the Interstate 40’s western exit ramp to Weisgarber Road.

The other driver was also injured and not in a critical condition at the time of publication.

Rose’s grieving aunt, Selena McClelland, recalled her niece’s laughter used to fill the room with joy. She was a “ray of light” in the darkest storm.

Since Plemons and Rose eloped 48 hours prior without informing close family members, there was no chance to congratulate them.

“What made it harder is the fact that she was the happiest she had ever been, and it got taken away from her,” Lily’s cousin August McClelland said according to Newsner.

A Gofundme memorial fundraiser has been launched for Plemons and Rose.
