Four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles put her own unique twist to it before throwing the first pitch for Game 2 of the World Series in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday night, Oct. 23.
The Houston Astros invited their hometown hero gymnast to Game 2 at Minute Maid Park. But the winner of 25 gymnastic world championship titles didn’t just throw the first pitch, she executed an impressive backflip with a twist, and stuck the landing.
Wednesday night’s game wasn’t the first time Biles has taken the mound. She previously showed off her gymnastics skills in 2016 when throwing out the first pitch before an Astros-Mariners game. She broke out a front flip for that occasion.
Biles, 22, is already considered one of the greatest American gymnasts to ever compete. She recently was named the most decorated gymnast in world championships history when she won her 24th medal on the balance beam at the World Gymnastics Championship in Stuttgart, Germany. Biles is set to go for more gold at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
