A failure by Chairman of the House Intelligence Adam B. Schiff  (D-Calif.) to notify Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee that he had prior knowledge of the whistleblower’s concerns regarding the president, is in violation of House rules. House Intel members were only told of the whistleblower’s allegations after the complaint was registered.

California Rep. David Nunes, the ranking member, said the attack on the president was politically motivated.

“We learn from the press today that Chm Schiff had prior knowledge and involvement in the WB complaint. He withheld this info from the American people and even from the Intel Cmte. In light of this news, it’s hard to view impeachment as anything aside from an orchestrated farce,” Nunes tweeted.

Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) told the Washington Examiner he did not know the whistleblower’s concerns.

“I was never made aware that Chairman Schiff was aware of this whistleblower’s concerns before a complaint was ever filed, much less that his own Intel staff advised the whistleblower on how to proceed,” Ratcliffe said. “For Chairman Schiff to then feign outrage and allege a White House ‘coverup’ to keep Congress from knowing about the whistleblower complaint that he helped to initiate is beyond dishonest.”

New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, a GOP member of the committee, has demanded Schiff’s immediate resignation.

Fred Fleitz, the former national security chief of staff, said Schiff’s coverup of whistleblower information was part of the Democrats attempt to remove the president.

“Under @HouseIntelComm rules, any classified info brought to the committee from outside sources MUST BE SHARED WITH BOTH SIDES. Schiff broke committee rules by not telling committee GOP members about this,” tweeted Fleitz, who once worked as a staffer on the House Intelligence Committee. He added:
This is a very serious violation of @HouseIntelComm rules. Why did Schiff do this, especially when he was using this information to score political points throughout the month of August? The reason is clear: it was part of the latest Dem ploy to take down @realDonaldTrump.
