Royal Caribbean is bringing a ship full of aid to the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian ripped a destructive path across the island nation.
The cruise line said it will deliver 10,000 meals, 43,000 bottles of water, generators, medical supplies, and other aid items on Thursday, Sept. 5, to the island nation.
The move comes days after the Miami-based cruise company pledged $1 million toward hurricane relief efforts.
Royal Caribbean said it was mobilizing its fleet to deliver essential items to areas of the Bahamas.
The company is in contact with the Bahamas government and plans to set up a relief operation at the Grand Bahama shipyard.
It’s just the first step of what Royal said will be its ongoing efforts to help the Bahamas.
“We’re just getting started,” Royal Caribbean tweeted.
