A group of Republican lawmakers led by Senator Ted Cruz on Friday introduced a resolution officially requesting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to rescind regulations requiring the use of face masks on public transportation in the United States.

The CDC has already lifted the mandatory use of face masks for those who are fully vaccinated outdoors and in most other settings. But both inside trains, buses, airports, and airplanes still require the use of masks, responding to one of the first executive orders issued by President Joe Biden when he took office as president.

The lawmakers’ request aims to at least extend the mask exemption measure to those citizens who are already vaccinated.

“Over 150 million people in the United States are fully vaccinated and mask mandates have been lifted across the country. But the CDC inexplicably still hasn’t lifted the mask mandate for public transportation.” Cruz said in a statement from his personal portal where he posted the resolution. “It is time for President Biden and the CDC to follow the science.”

The Republican signatories of the resolution also argue that terminating the mandate would also help with economic recovery, considering that it could safely boost travel and tourism, encouraging and generating more confidence in those citizens who still feel fearful of being in enclosed spaces with other people.

The legislators emphasized that there is no scientific basis for maintaining the obligation to wear face masks, taking into account the decrease in reported cases of the virus and the number of people immunized, either by having contracted the virus previously or by having received the COVID vaccine.

“Secretary Buttigieg even said that the mandate is not actually about the science, but instead about ‘respect.’ If there’s no science backing it up, it’s time for the mandate to go,” said Republican Sen. Cynthia Lummis.

Evidently some “health experts,” are in no hurry to see life return to normal and continue to recommend policies to instill fear and instability in society.

Despite CDC measures and reports from mask-worshipping politicians, there are various studies by experts who have argued that the effects of the masks have not helped reduce the number of infections and have even caused other pathologies.

A study published by Rationalground.com, a COVID-19 data clearinghouse led by a group of database analysts, took into account a 229-day period from May 1 through Dec. 15, 2020, comparing the days when state governments imposed mask mandates with the days when they did not—when vaccination had not yet begun as a measure to combat the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus.

Through a Twitter thread, the co-founder of the page, Justin Hart, released the results, which showed that those states that implemented masks had almost twice the number of cases of those states that did not implement mandatory use.

The Rational Ground study is just one of many that relativize the benefits of masks as a preventive against the CCP Virus. But it is undeniable that masks are a perfect symbol to spread panic and fear, clearly what certain sectors intend to install to fulfill their intentions of restricting and limiting freedoms.
