Leland Chapman, 42, the son of a reality show star Dog the Bounty Hunter, was reportedly hospitalized in Alabama this week because of an injury sustained while he was on a manhunt mission with his father.
A spokesperson for Chapman told AL.com that Leland will be out of action for 6 weeks due to an injury sustained while chasing fugitive Edward Morales.
According to his spokesperson, Chapman who lives in Athens, Alabama, tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will require surgery.
According to reports, while Chapman and his father were chasing a fugitive Morales wanted for harassment in Colorado, Leland Chapman was injured during the struggle to subdue Morales.
The apprehension of the suspect was being filmed for an upcoming show of “Dog’s Most Wanted.” According to AL.com.
Beth Chapman, the late wife of Dog and stepmother of Leland, lost her two-year battle with cancer late last month. A memorial is planned in her home state of Colorado this Saturday.
Dog told reporters outside his Honolulu home how much he loved his wife after her passing in Hawaii on June 26. “Beth isn’t dead,” he said, “she’s sleeping.”
