President Donald J. Trump wished Vice President Mike Pence a happy birthday this morning via Twitter, getting over 26,000 likes and over 5,000 retweets in the first hour.

He wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our great @VP Mike Pence!

VP Michael Richard Pence was born on June 7, 1959, in Columbus, Indiana, to parents gas station owner, Edward Pence, and Nancy Pence-Fritsch.

He married Karen Sue Batten in 1985. They are still married and have three children; Michael, Charlotte, and Audrey.

As a teen, he was a Democrat, according to CNN. However, during the 2010 Value Voter Summit, Pence declared, “I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.

He once wrote an essay titled, “Confessions of a Negative Campaigner” in 1991, where he pledged not to use insulting language or air ads disparaging opponents.

Pence is the 48th vice president of the United States. He served as governor of Indiana from 2013 to 2017.

On July 15, 2016, President Trump, named Pence as his running mate.
