President Donald Trump made a brief visit at a Christian church in Virginia on Sunday afternoon, June 2, to pray for the mass shooting victims.

The presidential motorcade arrived at the McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia, and the president entered the building, where a musical worship was taking place, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) reported.

President Trump stood on the stage behind the pastor, with hat in hand and head bowed.

The crowd at the megachurch greeted the president with applause.

According to Washington Examiner, lead pastor David Platt offered a prayer for President Trump.

“We stand right now on behalf of our president and we pray for your grace and your mercy and your wisdom upon him,” the pastor said. He also prayed to give Trump’s family strength and wisdom and prayed for leaders at the national and state levels.

After the unscheduled visit, President Trump walked back off stage without making any remarks.

On Saturday, the president ordered all U.S. flags lowered to half-staff in honor of the victims and community of Virginia Beach massacre.
