President Donald Trump, at Pennsylvania rally on Tuesday, Dec. 10, mocked Democrats and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for introducing articles of impeachment against him, saying they’re “embarrassed” by “impeachment light,” and promising it would lead to his reelection in 2020.

“Congress will soon vote on my new trade deal,” President Trump announced at the rally, noting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., “did it on the same day they announced they are going to impeach the 45th president of the United States and your favorite president. And, the reason they announced it on the same day, one hour later, they announced impeachment … you know why? It plays down the impeachment, because they’re embarrassed by impeachment, and our poll numbers have gone through the roof because of her stupid impeachment.”

“The silver lining of impeachment and this witch hunt, that’s the reason they approved USMCA,” he added, referencing the U.S Mexico Canada Agreement.

President Trump also blasted House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), calling him a totally “crooked [expletive]” for his handling of the impeachment probe triggered by an anonymous whistleblower with secondhand information.

“The whistleblower wrote something that was totally untrue. And we broke up the game.” President told the crowd. “We released the conversation and that gummed it up … the whistleblower, who was going to come out strong, he disappeared. Where’s the whistleblower? he’s disappeared! He’s gone! He flew the coop!”

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment earlier in the day, accusing the president of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

“This is the lightest, weakest impeachment that our country’s had… everybody says this is impeachment light, this is the lightest impeachment in the history of our country by far,” the president said, reported the Breitbart News.“They’re impeaching me and there are no crimes!” Trump said. “This has to be a first in history. They’re impeaching me, and you know why, because they want to win an election.”

As Democrats are racing towards impeachment, numerous polls have shown a noticeable dip in support for the process in key swing states and President Trump beats every Democratic candidate.
