President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he has delayed the tariffs on Chinese goods so that they do not affect “Christmas shopping season” and to help “a lot of different groups of people.”

And when asked if the Clintons were involved with the death of financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, President Trump replied, “I have no idea.”

Speaking to reporters in Morristown, N.J., before boarding Air Force One, President Trump said he had a constructive talk with China on Monday, August 12.

And he decided to delay the tariffs, “only to help I think a lot of different groups of people,” said the president, adding that he had “a very good talk yesterday with China—very productive call.”

The president said that he thinks China would like “to do something dramatic.” President Trump also said that he was unsure if the Chinese wanted to wait until a Democrat had a chance to get elected as U.S. president. “Hopefully that’s not going to happen because the economy would go to hell in a hand basket very fast,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration declared it is delaying certain tariffs on Chinese-made cellphones, laptop computers, and other items as well as eliminating other Chinese imports from its target list altogether.

The tariffs will be delayed till December 15 to avoid any impact on the U.S. Christmas shopping period, “just in case some of the tariffs would have an impact on U.S. customers but so far they’ve had virtually none,” said the president.

President Trump said, so far “the only impact has been that we’ve collected almost 60 billion dollars from China.”

While still on the topic of trade tariffs, President Trump said that China “really would like to make a deal” but “they have a problem in Hong Kong.”

The president “hopes it works out for everybody,” when a reporter stated that the Chinese communist party (CCP) is mobilizing military troops near to Hong Kong.

“It’s a very tricky situation,” replied President Trump. “I think it will work out and I hope it works out for liberty, I hope it works out for everyone, including China.” He hopes for a peaceful resolution.

“I hope nobody gets hurt, I hope nobody gets killed,” said President Trump.

And when asked whether the former President Bill Clinton had anything to do with Epstein’s death, President Trump told reporters he had “no idea.”

The president said that he knew Clinton was on Epstein’s plane “27 times and he [Clinton] said he was on the plane four times.”

President Trump said Clinton was a “very good friend” of Epstein and that “when they checked the plane log,” Clinton was “on the plane about 27 or 28 times.”

“So why did he [Clinton] say four times?” asked President Trump, who advised reporters to ask the question, “Did Bill Clinton go to the island?”

“Because Epstein had an island and it was not a good place, as I understand it. I was never there,” said President Trump.

The U.S. president told reporters that if they find out whether Clinton had been to Epstein’s island, they are “going to know a lot.” With that, the President Trump walked away and boarded Air Force One.
