A newborn baby was found abandoned in the woods in Maryland, just a couple of hours after she was born, police said.
On Friday evening, Aug. 16, Maryland police received a call from a man about a baby girl. The man said at around 5 p.m., he was walking in Silver Spring when he heard crying, which led him to the baby girl lying about 10 feet from the sidewalk.
The police responded and the baby was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
The girl was identified as possibly Hispanic.
Anyone with information about the baby should call police at 240-773-5400 (press 3).
Maryland has a safe haven law allowing parents to leave newborns at hospitals or police stations with no questions asked.
