Police released the names of two 18-year-old men who were fatally shot after an alleged attempt to break into a Tucson home in the middle of town.
They say that both Ali Mohamed and Corey Teixeira died in the incident that could be narcotics-related.
Police say about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, a woman woke because of a noise in the back of the house.
The woman confronted two men and shot them, she said, as they tried to force their way into her home.
Officers arrived at the back of the home to find the wounded men.
Police said that at the scene Teixeira was pronounced dead and Mohamed died shortly after arriving at a hospital.
They said the attempted break-in doesn’t seem random and the investigation continues to determine if the shooting was in self-defense.
