A homicide suspect was arrested on charges of first-degree murder in connection with a woman’s body being dumped in a suitcase on Thursday, Oct. 17.
On Friday evening, Oct. 18, Pueblo police confirmed the arrest of Anthony Cuevas and his wife, Melanie Ann Cuevas, both 36. Anthony also faces a charge of violating parole and Melanie faces a charge of criminal impersonation.
Anthony is believed to be the man who stuffed a woman’s body into a large suitcase and threw it into a dumpster behind a car wash on Ivywood Lane in Pueblo.
Surveillance cameras from the car wash recorded the act that took place on Thursday morning.
Police said they contacted the couple on Friday at around 5:30 p.m. after receiving several phone calls regarding the person of interest. Officers took the couple into custody.

The Pueblo County Coroner will release the victim’s name soon.
No court date for the two suspects was announced.
