A 2-year-old boy from Ohio with cerebral palsy has gained widespread attention for his creative Halloween costume.

The look was complete with Brantley’s own glasses.

Akron Children’s Hospital has posted a photo of Brantley on Facebook, saying it’s his first time dressing up for Halloween, and that he wanted to incorporate his medical equipment into his costume to show the world that he is making the best of his disability.

Brantley was born four months premature, weighing just 1 pound, 11 ounces. In addition to cerebral palsy, he has had to overcome stage 3 kidney disease, a chronic lung disease and gastroparesis.

He spent the first six months of his life in the NICU at Akron Children’s Hospital, where he proved he was a fighter. Now, Brantley’s parents are happy to report on his progress, a representative for the children’s hospital said.

Brantley will still face many challenges, but surely with a smile on his face, as the photos of his Halloween costume show.
