St. Louis police have a person in custody related to a double shooting that claimed a 7-year-old boy’s life.
Police sources have verified that there was an arrest. No extra data was provided by the police, citing an ongoing investigation.
Fox 2 discovered that the suspect was detained on Wednesday morning Aug. 14.
Xavier Usanga and his sisters were playing in the backyard in the 3500 block of North 14th Street when the shots rang out. An 18-year-old in the shooting was also critically wounded. Usanga was the youngest of eight children and shot in Hyde Park outside his home.
Eleven children have been shot since June in St. Louis City.
