President Donald Trump on Tuesday, Aug. 13, disclosed that he is probably losing up to $5 billion due to various lawsuits and “presidential harassment.”
“This thing is costing me a fortune, being president,” Trump said during a speech at the Shell Petrochemical plant in Monaca, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh.
“Somebody said, ‘Oh, he might have rented a room to a man from Saudi Arabia for $500,’” Trump said, referring to reports that Saudi delegation booked multiple nights in a Trump hotel.
“What about the $5 billion that I’ll lose?” Trump asked, noting the cost of lawyers “cause everyday they sue me for something.”
“It’s probably costing me from $3 to $5 billion for the privilege of being—and I couldn’t care less—I don’t care. You know if you’re wealthy, it doesn’t matter. I just want to do a great job. That’s why—I don’t care. I want to do the right job.” Trump added.
He continued, “Last month, I just won two cases on emoluments. And the judge was scolding of the other side. And what it is, is presidential harassment because this thing is costing me a fortune, and I love it. I love it because I’m making the lives of other people much, much better.”
“Under my administration, we’re fighting back and we’re winning because we are truly and finally putting America first. After years of building up foreign countries, we are finally building up our country,” the president concluded.
President Trump tweeted after leaving the complex how incredible it was and many jobs to come from it. He retweeted Team Trump’s tweet, “Today, President @realDonaldTrump will tour and deliver remarks at Shell Pennsylvania Petrochemicals Complex! This is the largest private investment in Pennsylvania since WWII. Since the president took office, $500B has been invested in the private sector! #JOBS #JOBS #JOBS.”
The president also shared on his fan page, “Under the leadership of my administration, America is dominating in the energy sector and manufacturing is back!”
Trump emphasized, “Today we have more people working in America than at any point in our country’s history. Think of that!”
