Former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne on Tuesday, Dec. 22, dropped more stunning information about the White House meeting last Friday night with attorney Sidney Powell and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Citing anonymous sources close to the discussion, several news outlets broke the news last week that President Trump had floated the idea of tapping Powell as special counsel during the meeting with other senior aides and his legal team members. Several aides pushed back on the idea of installing Powell into the position.
Byrne said President Trump had authorized Powell to act as special counsel and ordered that she be given appropriate security clearances. According to Byrne on the “MG Podcast,” President Trump told the group, “I’ve made my decision. I’m going with Sidney Powell.”
Byrne revealed that Powell was denied when she asked for an “office” and a security badge. White House staff “basically kicked her out” during her visit, Byrne said.
According to the Washington Examiner, Powell said on Tuesday that she had been denied access to President Trump by senior White House officials since the meeting last week.
“I haven’t met or spoken with the president since Friday night,” Powell said. “The president knows this election was stolen, but he is not getting the support he, the Constitution, and the Republic deserve. His own people are misleading and undermining him while protecting their own careers and agendas.”
Powell has been pursuing several election challenges in the courts, which center on reversing the election results in key swing states over allegations of “massive fraud” through the use of the Dominion voting system. Dominion has denied the allegations.
“My efforts to educate Rudy on demonstrable foreign interference in the election, including multiple CISA and FBI findings, have been met with irrational hostility,” Powell told the Examiner. “I have been blocked by White House counsel and others from seeing or speaking to the president since I raised the public formal findings and even more evidence of the foreign interference from Iran and China in this election.”
Byrne, who said he was part of the lengthy White House meeting on Dec. 18, wrote on his Twitter that President Trump’s advisers “want him to lose” the election “and are lying to him.”
“It is 100 percent winnable. No martial law required. Sydney and Flynn presented a course that I estimate has 50%-75% chance of victory. His staff just try to convince him to do nothing but accept it. As a CEO, my heart broke to see what he is going through. He is betrayed from within,” Byrne tweeted.
