Authorities responded to calls of a shooting late Tuesday night, Oct. 8, outside a Macy’s North Star Mall parking lot.
Police said a male was shot in the abdomen, probably in his early-to-mid 20s. He was transferred with nonlife-threatening injuries to the University Hospital but remains unstable. So, the victim was unable to provide any information.
Police said there were several witnesses, but it was difficult to tell exactly what happened because of the poor lighting.
Witnesses told police that they thought it might have been a drug deal gone wrong.
The victim’s car is still at the scene, but tomorrow it will be checked and processed.
At this time, the victim has not been named.
The suspect is still being investigated by police.
