A text written by professor Allyn Walker, a woman who identifies as a transgender male and is an assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, USA, has caused controversy for her call to “destigmatize” pedophilia.
Walker defends the use of the term “Minor Attracted People” (MAP) and argues that it is less dishonorable than the name pedophilia, which implies intense sexual attraction to children, according to Life Site Nov. 12.
The general conception of pedophiles is that they are people who tend to be sexual predators and offenders who tend to abuse children, which Walker seeks to disavow in his exposé.
However, movements towards the normalization of pedophilia, which also seek refuge for MAPs under the LGTBI+ banner, are rejected even by these associations, which do not lose sight of the fact that they are a threat to children.
“They are a fiendish group of sub-humans and they will find no haven in the LGBTQ community. We utterly rebuke their delusional and evil claims,” says gay rights advocate Otep Shamaya, according to writer Michelle Aarons.
Aarons also says: “Our children falling victim to pedophile attacks can probably be considered one of the worst nightmares of any parent.”
She adds: “Predatory behavior by such persons can destroy a child’s innocence and leave one scarred for life. We have heard horror stories and recognize the dangers.”
In this regard, writer Jonathon Van Maren also argues that to consider pedophilia only as a sexual orientation, just as homosexuality has been normalized, would be to lead it down the road to legalization.
“If sexual desire is the equivalent of identity, and if to sexually desire minors is at the core of one’s identity, then how can we stigmatize or otherwise suppress pedophiles if we recognize that other kinds of sexual minorities have civil rights?” writes Van Maren.
He adds, “Anybody who has lived through the last twenty years knows that sexual identity and the law is a slippery slope. This needs to be crushed right now, without apology.”
He further continues, “Without apology, and without nuance. This is grotesque, and if we ever lose the ability to recognize that and say it loudly, God help us.”
In this context, renowned actress Kirstie Alley shared her conviction that the United States is on the road to accepting pedophilia and that the big producers of audiovisual content are partly responsible for such delirium.
“Was watching TV … we’ve gone too far in my opinion. I feel sorry for our children. Their exposure to everything perverse on every kind of screen is mind boggling. And even more tragic, it’s being hyped as ‘normal’,” she said.
On the other hand, Walker was interviewed by the controversial activist group Prostasia, considered pro-pedophilia, which advocates the legalization of child sex dolls so that pedophiles have an outlet for what they insist is a form of sexuality.
This group was founded by convicted child rapist Michael Melsheimer for the explicit purpose of normalizing pedophilia and distracting prevention efforts, according to 4W magazine.
